Weighted GPA Calculator
A weighted GPA rewards harder classes by adding points above the 4.0 base. The common convention adds +0.5 for Honors and +1.0 for AP or IB, so an A in an AP class counts as 5.0 rather than 4.0 — which is why weighted GPAs can exceed 4.0 and often top out around 5.0. Weighted point = base grade point + rigor bonus (+0.5 Honors, +1.0 AP/IB)

Frequently asked questions
What is the highest possible weighted GPA?
It depends on your school’s cap. With the common +1.0 AP bonus, a schedule of straight-A AP classes reaches a 5.0 weighted GPA. Some districts cap higher or lower, and a few weight only certain courses — check your school’s policy.
Does an A+ change my weighted GPA?
The A+ value sets the base before the rigor bonus. Most schools treat an A+ as 4.0 (same as an A), but some use 4.3. Use the A+ toggle to match your school, then the Honors/AP bonus is added on top of that base.
