How is the AP Chemistry exam scored?
AP Chemistry combines 60 multiple-choice questions (each correct answer weighted by 0.75, no penalty for wrong answers) with 7 free-response questions. The two halves add into a composite out of about 91; College Board then compares your composite against that year's cut points to award a 1–5. A composite near 84 would estimate a 5.
Is this predicted AP AP Chem score official?
No. College Board re-curves the cut points for AP Chemistry at every administration based on the cohort and form difficulty, so the same composite can be a different score from year to year.
