Are holidays on a weekend skipped?
Yes. US federal holidays are skipped on their observed dates: a Saturday holiday is observed on the preceding Friday and a Sunday holiday on the following Monday. For example, 4 July 2026 is a Saturday, observed on Friday 3 July, so a working-days span crossing that week skips 3 July.
